Cogmed Working Memory Training
An evidence-based program for improved attention
Do you or a loved one have trouble focusing while at school, work or in everyday situations?
This issue can be caused by poor working memory – your ability to keep information in your mind for a short time, focus on a task, and remember what to do next.
While the issue can be frustrating, there is good news – through the use of Cogmed, a computer-based training program, you can improve and train your working memory. By doing so, you will be better able to stay focused, ignore distractions, plan next steps, remember instructions, and start and finish tasks.
Who is Cogmed for?
Cogmed users can be anyone who finds they are not doing as well as they could, academically or professionally, given their intelligence and their efforts. This can include several groups of people:
- Children and adults with attention deficits or learning disorders
- Adults experiencing information overload or the natural effects of aging
- Victims of brain injury or stroke
How does Cogmed Working Memory Training work?
Cogmed Working Memory Training is a computer-based solution for attention problems caused by poor working memory. Following an initial consultation, you’ll train your brain for five weeks with a challenging online training program that consists of a specific set of working memory tasks that are customized to you.
During that time, you’ll also interact regularly with a personal coach from A+ Solutions, a local Cogmed Qualified Practice. Your coach will help you through the training program, offering customized training solutions and regular support. Then, following the five week program, you’ll return to the office for a brief graduation meeting, where you will be given access to a continued, year-long program to be completed at your discretion, free-of-charge.
Why A+ Solutions?
A+ Solutions is one of the first licensed Cogmed Qualified Practices in Ohio. By working with a Cogmed Qualified Practice, you’ll have access to local, personal support through an assigned Cogmed coach, who will meet with you in-person before you start to give you the tools and information you need to successfully complete the online program. Then, as you work through the training program, your coach will provide personal, professional support through weekly support and progress calls.
