Social skills are important not only for early school success but also for building strong peer relationships regulating emotions and knowing how to show respect to others. Through the use of books, games, social stories, arts and crafts, Q&A, and snack time, your child will have the opportunity to practice the social skills needed to be successful in the classroom, on the playground, at a friend’s house and at home. Your child will have the opportunity to engage in conversations, ask and answer questions, identify different types of feelings and emotions and how to respond appropriately to those, how to talk so others will listen and how to “read” nonverbal cues.
